Abstract

This paper shows an in - line determination of heat transfer coefficients in a plate heat exchanger. Water and aqueous working solution of lithium bromide + ethylene glycol are considered. Heat transfer coefficients are calculated for both fluids. "Type T" thermocouples were used for monitoring the wall temperature in a plate heat exchanger, which is one of the main components in an absorption system. Commercial software Agilent HP Vee Pro 7.5 was used for monitoring the temperatures and for the determination of the heat transfer coefficients. There are not previous works for heat transfer coefficients for the working solution used in this work. © Springer Science+Business Media B.V. 2010.
