Abstract

Telework is attracting attention as one of new ways of working in Japan. Telework is a way of working that works without entering the company, but some companies are actually introducing it based on its merits, but the telework’s notoriousness and penetration rate is still low in Japan. We conducted two surveys in companies that are considering introducing telework. First of all, I investigated anxiety, frustration, etc. concerning employees’ introduction of telework. Next, we conducted an investigation on the actual work content. It aimed to clarify the barriers of teleworking by knowing the tendency of business contents. As a result, it was shown that insufficient infrastructure development, concern about dilution of communication, and a decrease in work efficiency are the major causes of introduction barriers, and the work contents can be classified into seven categories.
