Abstract

Objectives: This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows:. The objective of this review is to assess risk of depression in fertile women with use versus non-use of hormonal contraceptives. Furthermore, this review will perform a direct comparison of risk of depression, use of antidepressants, generalised anxiety disorder, alcohol/cigarette/drug consumption, and suicide attempts or suicide associated with different hormonal contraceptives depending on generation of progestogen and dose of oestrogens.
