Spectroscopic (infrared, Raman) data and chemical composition are reported for the kenyaite (Na2Si22O41(OH)8 • 6H2O) and magadiite (NaSi7O13(OH)3 • H2O). Kenyaite dense white nodules were found in the dumps of exploration drill holes on the locality of “cacholong” at the Quarken district of the Orenburg region. The kenyaite nodules occurred in the disturbed black shale with the small magadiite amounts. Apparently, this is the first finding of kenyaite and magadiite in Russia.
