(from the chapter) Addresses several issues that are important for investigators interested in conducting well-controlled outcome studies in community settings. In particular, the authors focus on these aspects of internal validity often neglected by field researchers (e.g., randomization, treatment specification, treatment integrity) and those aspects of external validity often neglected by university-based researchers (e.g., sample generalization, research attrition, treatment retention, interagency collaborations). Ethical issues that are pertinent to field researchers are discussed. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved).
