Abstract

This study aims to characterise the current distributed generation (DG) universe, connected to the distribution network, namely by type and voltage level, as well as the current regulatory framework in Portugal. In order to analyse the behaviour and the impact that DG may have on power quality (PQ), namely how it impacts the harmonic spectrum, some case studies will be presented through the monitoring and analysis of some heavy voltage/medium voltage substation' busbars. Conclusions about the impact on PQ will be presented.
