Abstract

In Cameroon, this interest is demonstrated by the arrival of major Private Equity actors such as Emerging Capital Partners (ECP) from USA, the french Investisseurs & Partenaires pour le développement (I&P) and the nigerian Travant Capital, which have all gotten close with the national actors of Private Equity. It absolutely proves the potential of investment opportunities in this country. The interest of those investment funds comes with the new emerging generation of entrepreneurs dedicated to promote the amazing resources of this country. Unfortunately those entrepreneurs face difficulties in finding banking funds. This situation doesn't make any sense since the local economy shows a high level of liquidity in the banking sector. In such an environment the private equity can be an alternative for the funding of the SME. The purpose of this article is to determine the role of the private equity in the funding of Cameroon's entrepreneurship and to show how it can change the face of the SME ecosystem in Cameroon.
