Abstract

This paper proposes a new swarm robotic application that is used for collecting an oil spill on the surface of water (ocean, river, lake, etc.). The system should meet the basic requirements for any swarm robotic system in mobil-ity, sensing, localization and navigation. In order to prevent oil spill from spreading over a wider area and to restrict dividing the oil spill to sub spills, that will make cleaning up easier and faster. Design requirements, control strategy, coordination and communication system are proposed and discussed.
