See, stats, and : http : / / www . researchgate . net / publication / 251210919 Depth Sift ARTICLE DOI : 10 . 1007 / 978 - 90 - 481 - 9151 - 2_44 DOWNLOADS 198 VIEWS 51 5 , INCLUDING : Edson Universidade 18 SEE Haroldo Instituto , Ciência 2 SEE Mayara 1 SEE Auzuir Instituto , Ciência29SEEAvailable:AuzuirRetrieved:17Abstract—Roboticshasbeendevelopedinahighlevelinthepastfewyears,especiallyinmobileRobotics.Itsmaincontributionisshowninhumanentertainmentandperformanceindangerousworks.However,thosearenotjusttheonlyapplicationstheyperform.Thereisawidefieldtobedeveloped.Distancecalculationissomethingreallyimportantforlocaliza-tionandnavigationofmobilerobots.Theclassicwaytocalculatedistancesareusingsonarandlaserradar.But,theuseofcomputervisioninstereo,basedontwocameras,iswidespreadinRobotics.Therefore,algorithms,todetectnewpoints,allowsthecreationofnewmethodstoexecutestereovision.Inthosealgorithmsthereisonethathasbeenused,theSIFT(scale-invariantfeaturetransform).ItmaybeusedwithclassicalgorithmsofstereovisionintheCom-puterVision3Dsystemdevelopment.Thisproject'sobjectiveistodevelopadistanceacquisitionsystemusingcomputervisioninstereowiththehelpofSIFTmethod.Theresultsareveryclosewithwhatwewereexpecting.Thenextstepstobedonearetheexecutionofquantitativeteststodeterminatethefocaldistanceoftheutilizedcamerasandtocalibratethesystem.
