Les déterminants de la compétitivité des filières bananes de Martinique et de Guadeloupe

Abstract

La réforme de l?Organisation commune du marché de la banane interpelle sur l?avenir de la banane des Antilles françaises. Cet article par une analyse de filière caractérise les déterminants de la compétitivité (Martinique, Guadeloupe) au niveau de ses coûts et impacts territoriaux. Il en déduit deux axes d?amélioration de la compétitivité€: l?accélération de l?innovation, la réalisation d?économies d?échelle et une différenciation qualitative portant sur l?origine. The reorganization of the banana european market is a challenge for the French West Indies banana commodity chain. This paper presents the competitiveness determinants of the banana production in Guadeloupe and Martinique for its costs and its territorial impacts. Three main propositions are exposed to improve the French banana chain: investments in innovation, economies of scale at farm and grower?s association levels and a promotion of the fruits related to its geographical origin.
