Abstract

Although the method based on installation of fins has been widely used to alleviate the draft tube surge at part-load operation of a Francis turbine, the corresponding mechanism is still unknown. Thus, the present study was made to clarify the effect of fins on the pressure surge experimentally by analyzing wall pressure flucutuations.
