The objective of this work is to describe the quality-of-life profiles and related medical and psychosocial factors in a Paraguayan sample. It is a descriptive and qualitative research, 128 women with a diagnosis of breast cancer have participated. The data collection techniques were the QL-CA-Afex questionnaire, the semi-structured interview, observation, and the comments collection sheet. In the symptom scale, the items of fatigue and pain stood out; in that of difficulties in daily habits, physical activities and household chores; on the scale of family difficulties, concerns for children and the economic factor; and anxiety on the scale of emotional distress. It can be concluded that breast cancer affects women from multiple areas of life, emotionally, socially-family, psychologically and economically. The information obtained in this research contributes to a better understanding of the experiences of Paraguayan women with this disease, and will serve for future research on quality of life and breast cancer in Paraguay.
