Abstract

To desulfurize fuel oil various methods can be used. One method is flue gas desulfurization, in which the user must set up a desulfurization unit. Another method is to treat heavy oil, and still another involves gasification. The last two methods are practiced by the supplier. In this article, both heavy oil desulfurization and gasification are discussed with regard to the present state of the art, and user's reactions.
