Abstract

This work presents the realization of a platform for testing and validating distributed real time systems (DRTS), by following a methodology of development. Our main contribution remains the realization of an industrial communication bus (FIP: Factory Instrumentation Protocol) implemented on an Ethernet platform. It focuses on improving the response time of the bus. For that, we use a deterministic implementation of FIP's services (variables identification, transmission functions,..) by exploiting the TCP/IP stack. The periodic communications are monitored by real time periodic threads, run on RTAI kernel. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media B.V.
