This study summarizes the theoretical and empirical literature on the ethics of bribe taking, and then compares the opinions of sample populations in the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The study found that, although opposition is strong in general, it is less than absolute in many cases. The study also examines some demographic variables.
