Abstract

Some of the latest developments in lubricating greases are described by a researcher from the Swiss manufacturer Aseol AG in Berne. Some of the applications of special products are listed and the properties of different types of lubricating greases are tabulated. Tests with greases made from lithium complexes are discussed. They include copper and glass plate tests and the dynamic oxydation test. Testing equipment used to determine the performance of greases at high temperatures is described and a pilot plant is featured. Lithium complex greases on both a mineral oil, partly synthetic and completely synthetic basis are expected to meet future industrial needs.
