Abstract

Background: Chief motivation can reduce or increase the nurse job satisfaction. A nurse who is satisfied with her work can be motivated to improve their performance. Objective: The purpose of this research is to examine the correlation of chief motivation with nurse job satisfaction inpatient room in Bangil Pasuruan City Hospital. Method: Research method used was Qualitative with Cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study were 48 respondents which was taken by using Purposive Sampling technique. The study employed questionnaire on work motivation and job satisfaction. Data were analyzed using Sommers'd Correlation. Results: For job satisfaction variable, 13 respondents (27,1%) are categorized satisfied, while 22 respondents (45,8%) are less satisfied. Based, on the work motivation variable 16 respondents (33,3%) are high motivated, and 29 respondents (60,4%) are less motivated. The result of the Sommers'd Correlation test were obtained with a p value of 0,003. P value was smaller than α = 0,05 (0,003 ˂ 0,05). Conclusion: Then Ha was rejected, which means that there is a correlation of chief motivation with nurse job satisfaction in Bangil Pasuruan City Hospital with a value (p 0,003)
