Revision of Vitellus Stål and Avicenna Distant in Australia (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)

Abstract

Four known species of Vitellus and one of Avicenna have been redescribed. the following new synonyms are proposed: V. taurus Distant 1910 =V. antemna Breddin 1900; V. bovillus Distant 1910 =V. forficuloides Walker 1867; Morna cucospila Walker 1867 and Cuspicona splendidula Distant 1910 =Cimex aggressor F. 1775 and Cuspicona recurvicornis Breddin 1900 =C. auricornis Walker 1867. the latter has been moved to Avicenna as has Morna aggressor.
