Abstract

Documentary records of the cultivation of citrus trees and Boehmeria nivea have been used to produce distribution maps of these plants for the eighth, 12th and 13th centuries. It can be estimated that the annual mean temperature in south Henan Province in China in the 13th century was 0.9-1.0 degrees C higher than at the present.
