This study aims to determine differences in biology learning outcomes between experimental classes that apply the number head together method and team games tournament. This research was conducted at MTs Hidayatul Umam Cinere in class VII.A (implementation of the Team Games Tournament method) and class VII.D (implementation of the Number Head Together method) on the concept of classification of living things. The research method used was quasi-experimental with purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were test instruments in the form of 20 multiple choice questions and non-test instruments in the form of student responses to determine the level of achievement of the learning process. Instrument result data were analyzed statistically using a comparative test of the posttest scores of the two classes, while the data from the non-test instrument results of student responses were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that there were significant differences in learning outcomes between the two classes. This conclusion is based on the results of testing the hypothesis by using the t test on both posttest values. Based on testing the hypothesis, the tcount value is 3.14, and the ttable value at a significance level of 5% is 2.00. Thus, it can be seen that the value of tcount > ttable, so the null hypothesis is rejected. The results also showed that the team games tournament method was superior to the number head together method, which had an average posttest score of 63.4 and the class applied to the team games tournament method had an average posttest score of 70.2. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar biologi antara kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan metode number head together dan team games tournament. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTs Hidayatul Umam Cinere pada kelas VII.A (penerapan metode Team Games Tournament) dan kelas VII.D (penerapan metode Number Head Together) pada konsep klasifikasi makhluk hidup. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes berupa soal pilihan ganda sebanyak 20 butir dan instrumen nontes berupa respon siswa untuk mengetahui tingkat ketercapaian proses pembelajaran. Data hasil instrumen dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji perbandingan nilai posttest kedua kelas, sedangkan data hasil instrumen nontes respon siswa dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara kedua kelas tersebut. Kesimpulan ini didasarkan pada hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji t terhadap kedua nilai posttest. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis tersebut, diperoleh nilai thitung sebesar 2,26, dan nilai ttabel pada taraf signifikansi 5% adalah 2.00. Dengan demikian, terlihat bahwa nilai thitung > ttabel, sehingga hipotesis nol ditolak. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa metode team games tournament lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan metode number head together memiliki rerata skor posttest sebesar 63,4 dan kelas yang diterapkan metode team games tournament memiliki rerata skor posttest sebesar 70,2.
