Abstract

In this paper a new image thresholding method is proposed by using a similarity measure on intuitionistic fuzzy sets.Based on the ‘vote model’ of intuitionistic fuzzy sets, an image is mapped to an intuitionistic fuzzy set which is constructed from a fuzzy set. The corresponding fuzzy set’s membership degree is calculated by Gamma distribution. The proposed technique maximizes the similarity degree to select the best threshold.
