Abstract

This article's aim is to analyze the development and configuration of 'escrache' as a feminist strategy that helps fighting gender violence against women in Mexico. In order to do this, this work focuses on the NGO "Red No Estan Solas" (Women are not alone Network), whose Spanish acronym is rednes. This organization has deployed the practice 'escrache' consistently throughout its existence within the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Rednes has a particular form of organization and mobilization in both the digital and physical public space. Therefore, my research relies on a methodology that analyzes the digital data from the fanpage of rednes. Along with semi-structured interviews to seven members of the organization, this approach allows to describe and analyze rednes' hybrid collective action. In conclusion, the group's physical and digital links are at the core of its collective action and social protest.
