Abstract

Building with sugar: Glucose acts as a transforming template for the synthesis of the three-dimensional macroporous oxide Sm 0.2Ce 0.8O 1.9. The material has a two-dimensional nanosheet microstructure and has a high surface area and great potential for the fabrication of gas-tight membranes with high ionic conductivity.
