The aim of this paper is to present the application of some procedures of the situational strategic planning (SSP) to structure and solve problems in the private sector. The methodology is based on the description and analysis of three case studies. Specifically, the procedures of the explanatory and normative stages of SSP were used to explore, in the first case, the problem related to employees motivation in the quality department in an automobile company. In the second case, SSP was used to explore the problem of instability of a final product on the production assembly, in the same automobile company. In the third case, a problem related to the career plan of an instrumentation, electrical and mechanical maintenance company was explored. In all cases, the main gain in using these procedures of SSP was to provide employees with elements for deepening collective discussions on the existing problems.
