Abstract

Studied the cultural suitability of the 43-item Social Readjustment Rating Scale (T. H. Holmes and R. H. Rahe, 1967) as a life events questionnaire. 205 undergraduate and graduate students (mean age 21.7 yrs) were asked (1) to judge whether the items were stressors and how stressful they were and (2) to give each item a life change unit score.
