The paper presents a process that identifies all stakeholders of a project who are interested in the traceability process and the elements of the project that they want to track. For each stakeholder, traceability elements are identified, analyzed, modelled and validated. As result, a class diagram is produced that shows the traceability elements and their relationships, and a use case diagram that shows the traceability services (relationships) for each stakeholder interested in the traceability. The process is supported by a set of guidelines that uses a set of predefined relationship types that help to develop the traceability model. To support the approach a tool was created and validated through a university library system case study.
