Abstract

This paper describes a control system for industrial robots whose reactions base on the analysis of images provided by a camera mounted on top of the robot. We show that such control system can be designed and implemented with an open source image processing library and cheap hardware. Using one specific robot as an example, we demonstrate the structure of a possible control algorithm running on a PC and its interaction with the robot. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.
