Abstract

Th eadvent of multislice computed tomography (CT)was a quantum leap for CT technology. When this technicalinnovation was first introduced, the radiologicalcommunity was faced with the task of putting its advantagesto use for diagnostic patient management and optimizingits clinical applications. One of the major clinicalchallenges was to develop this new tool for noninvasivecardiac imaging applications ranging from coronaryangiography, to ventricular function analysis, to cardiacvalve evaluation and myocardial perfusion analysis.
