Abstract

Historic periods of ancient China can be divided into the Paleolithic Age, the Neolithic Age, the Chalcolithic Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age based on means of production. In the Paleolithic Age, there were only chipped stone tools; apart from chipped stone tools, polished stone implements also emerged in the Neolithic Age, which falls into the early, middle, and late periods; the Chalcolithic Age saw stone implements and copper ware, while stone implements dominated.
