There are a wide variety of complications that can occur following blepharoplasty surgery. The most critical vision-threatening causes include orbital hemorrhage and orbital cellulitis. More frequent complications can include periorbital hematoma, allergic and inflammatory reactions (such as suture or pyogenic granulomas), and wound dehiscence. Patients may also be troubled by postoperative diplopia, refractive changes, and ptosis. This chapter will review these complications and the recommended management.
