This article discusses security aspects of the Industrial Inter-net of Things—the explosion of IP-connected devices used in such areas as control systems, manufacturing, utilities, and transportation. The industrial Internet of things, like In-ternet of things as a whole, is rapidly growing and evolving, but comes from a very different historical context. Industrial systems have different attack vectors and threats associated with them, and although many standard IT security concepts can be applied, special consideration needs to be given to the unique requirements and constraints in these environments.
