Abstract

A steady signal-based method of specific communications emitter identification (SEI) was proposed to extract features from steady signals. Firstly, unintended modulations induced by nonlinear dynamics of RF power amplifiers and oscillators in communications emitter are discussed. Secondly, the fractal dimension of this type of nonlinear dynamics system is analyzed. In addition, an improved fractal filter is used to remove white noise added in channel from signals. Thirdly, the experiment of SEI with this method has been done. In the experiment, the ECOC classifier marked identification labels to each emitter signal. Results show that the fractal method can identify signal correctly, and is robust to noise.
