Abstract

• Occupational skin cancer occurs years after exposure and may be underreported. • Due to improvements in the safety of industrial processes, there has been a decline in occupational skin cancers. • Common carcinogens include polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, ionizing radiation, and arsenic. • Skin malignancy induction is usually due to mutation of the p53 gene by the carcinogen. • There is an increased frequency of melanoma among aviation crews.
