Abstract

In this paper a few methods are formulated, how to teach robotics to children and teenagers. These methods are based on the assumption that children want to learn robotics by their own choice. It is focused on the introduction of basics of robots and its programming. Lego Mindstorms NXT is used as a platform. An overview of well known competitions, using this platform, is presented. These competitions are a good way to see how effective the methods are. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
