Abstract

The independent effects of fines and mean particle size on the incipient bubbling velocity and on the voidage of the dense phase in a bubbling bed have been established. The gas density and viscosity also have an influence which suggests that increasing the operating temperature and pressure should lead to smoother fluidization. (A)
