Abstract

Investigated sexual behavior with 321 85-yr-olds (223 women) without dementia. 13 men and 2 women reported sexual intercourse, almost exclusively related to marital status. Many more Ss reported sexual feelings. Of the sexually active men, 5 reported no problems with intercourse, and 5 reported high levels of coital satisfaction. Findings refute the myth that the elderly are neither able to engage in nor interested in sexual activity. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved).
