Abstract

Service robots, unlike their industrial counterparts, operate in unstructured environments and in close cooperation with human beings [3]. Thus, service robots must rely heavily on sensing and reasoning, while industrial robots rely mainly on precision of movement in a well-known and structured environment. © Springer-Verlag London Limited 2007.
