Abstract

Part of Microsoft's radical new WinFX API is the foundation code-named Indigo, now more formally known as Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). WCF is a technology which allows web service developers to create services that communicate and interoperate with each other and other programs and applications. The text is practical and real-world oriented, offering a WCF programming model, and chapters on creating a WCF web service; hosting and consuming WCF Web Services; deploying and managing WCF services; reliable messaging and queue management, and WCF Security. As there are currently few books available on WCF, this book will be useful to a sizeable audience of intermediate to advanced-level WCF developers, who tend to be early adopters.
