Abstract

Attempted self-poisoning with a biguanide has been reported (Dobson, 1965; Davidson et al., 1966). Fatal self-poisoning occurred in the case recorded here and is of interest because of the clinical presentation with hypoglycaemia and severe acidosis and because of the necropsy findings. © 1970, British Medical Journal Publishing Group.
