Abstract

This paper presents the comparison study of the pressure distribution analysis between wearing the transradial prosthetics with the body powered prosthetics which are focus on the transradial amputation level. The major different analysis totally depends on the amputation level, mass of both body powered prosthetics and the transradial prosthetics. The body power prosthetics involve the mechanical engineering structure of Bowden cable as the main system while transradial prosthetics used biomechatronics system as the main engineering principle. The paper briefly describes the different of pressure distribution that occur to the amputee while wearing the different approach of prosthetics hand. The data analysis of both methods using the Fscan to investigate the reliable prosthetics hand needs to be worn by the amputee. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
