Abstract

Samsung is a world famous multinational group headquartered in South Korea. It is the representative of all Korean enterprises and makes great contributions to the Korean economy, accounting for 21 % of the country’s total exports. It has 30 subsidiaries different sectors, including electronics, finance, insurance, heavy industries, hotels, medicine, and advertisement. Samsung Electronics, Samsung Life Insurance, and Samsung C&T all ranked 22nd, 333rd, and 492nd, respectively, in the Fortune 500. Samsung Group has a total of 516 institutions in 80 countries with 344 thousand employees. In 2011, its sales revenues reached 274.3 billion USD, with profits at 20.3 billion USD. As the flagship subsidiary of the Samsung Group, Samsung Electronics ranks 17th among the Top 100 global brands.
