Abstract

STUDY SELECTION Studies selected were randomized controlled trials examining the effectiveness, safety, and risk-benefit of benzodiazepines compared with placebo or other pharmaco-logic treatment or between other benzodiazepines. DATA EXTRACTION AND SYNTHESIS Two authors independently screened the selected titles and extracted data, and differences were resolved through discussion. The risk of bias was performed with the assessment tool recommended in the Cochrane handbook. 1 Dichotomous outcomes were analyzed with relative risk with 95% confidence intervals. Continuous outcomes were analyzed by calculating the standard mean difference with 95% confidence intervals. Heterogeneity was assessed with 2 (P.05) and I 2 (at least 50%). 1 Trial outcomes
