Abstract

This article presents the experience developed in the Interior Design career of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Guayaquil in the realization of furniture prototypes with CAD-CAM technology. This process has allowed the development of new knowledge based on the proposed methodology of the Italian Bruno Munari that uses design methods with experimentation phases, achieving appreciable results in the form of prototypes with innovative characteristics according to a serial production. The market analysis allows us to know that not all user needs are met in terms of the demand for furniture in natural disaster areas. The research on the technology that is proposed to be used leads to the choice of CNC manufacturing machines coupled to a CAD-CAM system.
