Abstract

Because of the importance of durability against electromagnetic interference in modern life, the shielding effectiveness of a rectangular cavity with apertures on different sides irradiated by the plane electromagnetic wave is modeled in this paper. In the modeling process, the incident angle and the polarization angle of the plane electromagnetic wave are introduced, and the scattering voltage produced on the outer aperture is taken as the radiation source. The aperture is taken as the asymmetrical coplanar stripline and the rectangular cavity is taken as a rectangular waveguide with one end completely open and another end completely closed. The shielding effectiveness of any point in the cavity is calculated using transmission line theory. Compared to other authors before, this method improves the completeness of the model and computation speed which supplies good reference for engineering practice. © 1964-2012 IEEE.
