Abstract

With the widespread uptake of robotic surgery in the field of adult urology, attention has recently shifted to applying this technology to conditions in the pediatric population. The requirement for minimally invasive treatments and the reconstructive nature of pediatric urologic surgery makes robotic technology very appealing in this specialty. This chapter describes the current uses and recent advances of robotics in pediatric urology. © 2008 Springer-Verlag London.
