Liquids that approach the calorimetric glass transition have very high viscosities and very long relaxation times. The two most important common features are non-Arrhenius temperature dependence of the average relaxation time and non-Debye linear response functions. This article discusses an old empiricism relating to the latter, time-temperature superposition (TTS).
