Currently, an increasing research study in the field of energy conservation is concentrating on the application of energy management sensors in the power distribution system. This study represents the way of an energy harvesting system using stray magnetic energy formed by electric current across power line of a power distribution system to provide energy for low-power devices like wireless sensor network. The methods used the ferrite toroidal cores tested and validated with the various number of turns targeting harvesting power device. The basic of ferromagnetic materials focused on the magnetic field theory to get energy for providing power to small electronic devices. The first step determines the magnetic field around the current carrying wire using magnetic field theory. The second step tests the proposed harvester by varying secondary turns. The third step compares between the selected cores which led to the best result.
