Covered in this chapter are complications of perineal proctectomy, rectal mucosectomy (Delorme), anal circlage (Thiersch), and stapled perineal proctectomy (TRANSTAR or PSP). The relative risk of each complication is not presented as it is impossible to calculate from the cited case reports and series. Rather atentin is drawn to their existence so that they might be recognized should they occur.
