Deep Learning

Abstract

In this chapter we will focus on specific type of neural networks called as deep neural networks or deep networks. Deep networks and deep learning have become extremely popular tools in modern machine learning due to tremendous success they have achieved using the distributed and parallel computing technology available at disposal. We will study two specific types of deep networks in the form of convolutional neural networks (CNN) and recurrent neural networks (RNN). In RNN, we will study the most popular implementation called as long short-term memory or LSTM.
