Abstract
The incidence of liver diseases is very high in Asian countries. This paper introduces our computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system for diagnosing liver cancer and describes the fundamental technologies employed in the system and its performance. The results showed that our system is useful for diagnosing liver cancer, and it is expected that employing CAD in clinical practice would reduce the mortality caused by liver cancer in Asian countries. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
